The history of Milwaukee dates to the early 17th and 18th centuries when traders first began to travel through and eventually settle in what is now Milwaukee. Deep European roots brought craftsmen and skilled hands to the area and to this day an ethic of hard work and determination inhabits the spirit of the city. Early on the area was full of coopers, butchers, shoemakers, and farmers. Milwaukee’s beer history started in the 1840’s, driven by the presence of the frontier settlement near the Great Lakes. Immigrants, including Welsh and German settlers, yearned for the native beers of their homelands, so they embarked on making delicious craft beer with techniques from their native countries.     I truly appreciate the time I spend at this restaurant as I’m a resident of Avenues West neighborhood and the adjacent Near West Side. The live music with the food is always a plus for me when I go. My child loved her mashed potatoes and my child’s mom loved her time there. We appreciate the person who also paid for our tab the last time we went without our knowledge. That was nice of them. I even got to tip the waiter more.

    Maggianos @ Mayfair is consistently wonderful! Every associate from the hostess to Host Mitchell to server Brietta exhibited professionalism, warmth and kindness. What I would describe as “Agape Love”. We look forward to our dinners there and are never disappointed. The food is bountiful and delicious:)

    For the price you pay, the service of EVERY hostess and WAIT STAFF needs evaluating. Some are extremely kind, quick to respond and attentive, others unattentive, Luke warm, and slow. Would love to experience consistency of service because I love dining in place..

    My husband had I went for dinner for an early valentines day. We shared the broiled oysters. They were a little small for the price but were very good. We had the kale salad with beets. They split the salad up into two bowls. It was tasty. We shared the 14oz NY strip and honey carrots. We ordered the steak medium rare. The one end was well done but my husband likes it that way. They precut the steak into slices and served it on a wood platter. It was very nice. For dessert we each had a glass of port. The service was very professional.

    Simply amazing. The sprouts were a perfect balance of savoury and sweet. The dry aged portini rubbed rub eye wa spectacular to say the least. 10/10 would recommend
