A lovely Midwinter meal, we particularly recommend the spiced fish soup (with perfectly cooked scallops), which was delicious and exactly right for this time of year. The hake and duck mains were especially impressive. Service was friendly despite the restaurant being very busy. Looking forward to going again.

This is the second time I've been for brunch at Pythouse. SO pleased I have finally found a place where I can go with friends and family for a brunch that doesn't disappoint. The decor, the setting, the service, and the food are all incredibly brilliant. i intend to work myself through the menu as the flavours, pairings and presentation are wowzers. Come hungry, as the portions are capable for setting you up for the day. I never leave without a few bottles of condiments from the shop too, as we quickly get though them, especially the Smoked Squash Ketchup! Bravo guys!

Great service and very friendly. Got a little busy and that meant the attentive nature to start dropped off. And the food was pricy for what it was. But delicious.

It was lovely to visit the Penruddocke after so many years. The food and staff were excellent, but the decor was basic - because the owners have clearly taken over and are rebuilding the business - something that we like to support as so many rural pubs/inns have disappeared this days. We were certainly made to feel special and were amply rewarded for travelling there. Thank you.
