Built in 1591, the Tolbooth Tavern in Edinburgh was formerly part of the original Canongate Tolbooth. This medieval building was used to divide the Royal Burgh of Edinburgh and Canongate.     Had a great experience from start to finish. Warm welcome on arrival the the waitress was very helpful explaining the menu to make sure we didn’t order more food than we can eat. All staff very attentive throughout and the food was outstanding. Would highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely head back soon. Even when asking to pay the bill we did not have to wait long to get it and pay it. Great work from all the staff you really made it an enjoyable experience.

    Absolutely loved Tolbooth Tavern. The staff are incredibly friendly and the food totally amazing. The steak pie is to die for. The tavern is so lovely with its quirky charm. We loved every second. Thankyou everyone.

    Great hosts and restaurant. The food was delicious and the staff was very courteous and helpful. I highly suggest visiting The Cavaliere. They even have an area for larger groups. I love this restaurant and would book again.
