Great Italian food and wine in a cozy setting. We were visiting Amelia Island and were looking for Italian food and stumbled upon Cucina South. What a pleasant surprise as the menu featured pasta carbonara, my favorite. Cucina South has a good selection of wines, and we sampled 30 Degrees, a cabernet sauvignon. It paired well with the steaming dish of pasta carbonara and the lamb chops that emerged from the kitchen. Lots of pancetta on the carbonara, no stinting there. It was a huge plate of pasta that was so delicious that I enjoyed it all in one sitting. I’ll be going for extra walks this week for sure, but won’t regret a single minute of the eating, it was sooo goooood. Also very nice owners and the chef came out to chat with us. If you are visiting Amelia Island, definitely check out Cucina South. I know we will be returning.

This was not our first time dining at Salt. What is amazing is that the staff remembers us from previous visits. We are always assured that our dinner will be presented and cooked magnificently. We are enthusiastically anticipating the newly remodeled Salt to open later this month!!!
