- JJoyceVIPGreater Boston •16 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoThe George is a bit indescribable: a little bit throw back a little bit bistro a little bit traditional like when your parents took you to a special place. Food is very good, menu extensive, service great and prices reasonable. Only one thing could be added; maybe a vegetarian/vegan entree or two. I always have a couple of fish dishes to chose from but a great veggie lasagna or grain legume veggie entree would be most welcome Overall a great placeMore infoThe GeorgePrice: Expensive• Contemporary American• Providence•4.6
- AAndrewGreater Boston •1 review5.0Dined 2 days agoI wish I could rate the service higher, I’ve never been to a restaurant where the service is both incredibly attentive without being intrusive. The tasting menu and paired drinks was fantastic! Presentation was beautiful, too. Overall, a perfect date night restaurant. Great food, incredible staff, and a quiet, refined ambiance that allows you to really focus on who you’re with.More infoGracie'sPrice: Very Expensive• Contemporary American• Providence•4.9

- BBrendanGreater Boston •3 reviews4.0Dined on Dec 26, 2024The place was empty when we arrived, but filled up fast. It was our first visit here, and the waitress did a great job explaining the menu, pizza size/options and recommended appetizers. The chicken wing appetizer came out quickly; one of our two pizzas arrived after that and then the waitress came back to explain that our other pizza had been overcooked and was too burnt to be served. She apologized and put in a new pizza order for us, but at that point the restaurant was full of diners and the re-do wasn’t expedited. Basically, it took well over an extra half hour for our second pizza to arrive. My kids had already finished the first pizza while my wife and I continued to wait. They did take the second pizza off the bill as a courtesy, but I have no idea why they couldn’t get that redone second pizza out of that kitchen faster. A coal fired oven probably cooks up a pizza in a minute or two, not 30+ minutes. The pizza itself wasn’t nearly as crispy as the waitress described it to be. While parts of the crust were charred, the middle was floppy/soggy and the toppings fell off most pieces. Meh. The service here was good and the appetizer was tasty but the pizza was just disappointing. The delay in cooking the replacement pizza was just unreasonable… dinner took two hours total. We probably won’t go back.More infoProvidence Coal Fired PizzaPrice: Moderate• Contemporary American• Providence•4.7
