The Hop Vine formerly the ‘Royal Hotel’ was built in 1874 and was the main stopping off point for goods being transported to and from the old Turnpike road the A59. The Royal as it was known has served the community and travellers alike. Using open table allows me to see available times, great idea. The waitress got our drinks wrong and our desserts but I got the impression she was probably a new member of staff. The food was first class and I struggled to choose between the chicken off the special menu decided on the dockers salad which was delicious
