This Parisian bistro offers live piano music and a tantalizing menu in an intimate setting of red velvet walls, a cavalcade of chandeliers and a blue-tin ceiling. Guests receive a warm welcoming and are treated as family whether coming before a show, after the show, for a leisurely dinner in-between, or a drink at the zinc bar.Chez Josephine draws a crowd unlike any other in New York as food critic Bryan Miller noted when he wrote: “The dining room is a confluence of the famous and the fashionable, the infamous and unsung – with every shade of skin on earth – and indeed you feel the magic of Chez Josephine.”

With this second location in Penn District, chef-partner Andrew Carmellini will carry on his same tried and true methods of making fresh pasta traditionally prepared and cooked to order, using a variety of non-GMO semolina and specialty ‘00’ flours, organic eggs and family recipes. My gnocchi and hangar steak was fabulous, and my steak cooked to the level of doneness (i.e. medium) that I requested.

Truly a gem. Wether you are in town for vacation or business, this place is a must. Food is just simply delicious, classics with a special touch that makes each dish standout. Quality food, amazing service and ambiance without an ounce of pretentiousness. You must dry insalate Gelato, lamb chops cooked to perfection, sea bass - delicious. But above all, absolute must is pistachio tiramisu dessert : airy, light, with just the right amount of delicate sweetness. Every member of the staff is making you feel cared for and welcome. Host and , I believe, co -owner Antino ( i was told he makes pistachio dessert) is very kind, witty and welcoming. Truly a gem in NY

Solid destination for Brunch with quick service and large portion sizes. Cocktails are well made and arrive quickly with a lot containing tequila if that’s your thing! Our drinks were served in plastic glasses/tumblers which for us was the difference in 4 or 5 stars. Overall, I’d definitely recommend and plan to go back.
