PO'BOYS BBQ, Athens' favorite pop up street food hangout is finally getting its own space.PO'BOYS, born out of the effort of Chef and Owner Vassilis Sporos to get acquainted with the authentic Southern BBQ and the low and slow smoked meats in the Athenian audience. The project made its first appearance at the Christmas Food Market in Kotzia Sq in 2016 as a food truck and became an instant hit. From March 2018, it found its new home in the historic neighborhood of Psirri, Athens and is hosting guests every day with love and attention. Gloria Gati is the new restaurant of chef George Papakostas who jokingly refers to Gloria as the older sister of Vittoria Gati, another famous restaurant of his in Glyfada. Gloria is located in a historic building in the Athens center just 50 meters from Syntagma square. It is defined by an eclectic vintage design in a very cosy space where the pizza oven takes center stage. The bar serves award winning cocktails and over 100 wines from Greece and around the globe. The menu is Italian with a focus on homemade pasta and quality meats. The pizza is made from a 1937 sourdough and baked in a traditional oven imported from Naples. Some of the signature dishes include the steak tartare, arancini bolognese, the raviolo cacio pepe, the reginette al tartufo for truffle lovers as well as pollo francese and the ossobuco which is cooked for 12 hours. A tiramisu is a must here accompanied by a single estate espresso. Outside seating is available all year round in the courtyard of St George church

A lovely place to visit. The memorabilia was fascinating and the staff were really friendly. A special shout out to the staff and manager who were fantastic. Like all cities, pickpockets operate and this was apparent along the road with The Hard Rock and at the end the road (by Hadrian’s Library).

We liked the atmosphere and the beautiful view of Athens at night . The waiter was concerned that the food was not good enough as my daughter could not finish her food . The food in fact was delectable . We can see why it’s an award winning restaurant . We were surprised that we could get a table without pre booking , possibly because it was not peak season . We would definitely recommend it .
