In 1959, Frank and Tina D'Ambrosio decided to start a new restaurant venture along with their "Paisans" Mario and Enza Volpe, after Frank had much success with his first restaurant, the original "Frankie, Johnnie, and Luigi Too! In Mountain View, CA. Named after a good friend of theirs, they opened the original "Giorgio's" in the Foxworthy Shopping Center in San Jose, CA. One year later, cousins Anthony and Louise Dambruoso, affectionately known to the family as "Sash and Lou", took control of the restaurant and ran it for the next eight years. Pictures and paintings of these folks still grace the walls of the establishment today. In 1968, Frank's four sons assumed control of the restaurant and still own and operate it to this day. In 1997 they opened a second location in Milpitas, CA, in 2023 another in Morgan Hill and now back in Mountain View, where they still offer the highest standard of quality food, service, and value to their customers.     I made reservations for 4 at lunch on Saturday. We went to celebrate a birthday and spend quality time together. I had the chicken Marsala lunch special which also included a lentil soup (the best I’ve EVER had) and chocolate mousse for dessert. The food and service were outstanding! We will definitely return soon.

    Cascal continues to be a top notch lunch or dinner spot. The Spanish food is lively and profusely diffuse. While the prices have inched up,so it has in the other fine restaurants in Silicon Valley. I will return!

    Love this place! We're New Yorkers and one item that's hard to find around here is the Calzone, a "pizza-type"specialty, but the stuffing ("toppings" which you may choose like a pizza) are packed into dough bundle, think egg roll or burrito but larger, baked, not fried. Hubby , the calzone king said it was just right! Little easier to eat than a pizza also. I, as usual, had the delicious Chicken Parmigiana. It is served with pasta and spinach, but I asked for mixed vegetables, no pasta. No problem. They are very flexible about small changes. Their wines are excellent also, along with great dessert options.
