Chandler’s opened it’s doors in December of 1999 behind the historical Symons General Store building. It’s a cozy place with only 50 seats in the main dining room & 10 seats at the bar. When real estate is too tough to find - it’s standing room only! For a change of scenery, guests can enjoy dining in the wine cellar where they are surrounded by the 4,000 bottle collection that serves both the restaurant and Symons General Store.     Their special was 3/$60 which included an appetizer, entree and dessert. Chocolate raspberry martini 10/10. Butternut squash bisque 9.5/10 should have asked to omit the goat cheese. Entree was John Cross whitefish 10/10. Dessert NewYork cheesecake 10/10. We were a party of 5. The environment was a little too quiet for our liking. We usually like to do a lot of talking and laughing, which we still did, but felt we had to keep it down a tad. The rest of my party rated their experience 9 to 10 as well. Definitely recommend this place if you’re thinking about going.

    This is our favorite restaurant in Traverse City and we always dine here for the special occasions in our life. All of their wait staff are awesome, but Mary is our favorite! If you’re looking for a wonderful experience, try The Boathouse….summer or winter!
