Restaurants near Big Springs Station Historical

No restaurant is perfect. However, I have only ever had 5 star service and food at Saluda's. Tonight, our server Nancy did an amazing job. This is a must experience in Columbia, in my opinion. The value for your money is frankly hard to believe. Don't hesitate.

From reception to leaving, everyone was congenial and helpful. Our server, Paige, deserves special mention; but, truly, all the staff are personable, professional, and proficient. We also appreciate the variety of buffet offerings. You can certainly enjoy all the traditional brunch menu items but there is also a carvery as well as deliciously prepared fresh vegetables. There also often seems to be a "theme" table which varies week to week. This time it was Mexican, which included excellent chicken chimichanga with Spanish rice. And did I mention the outstanding Cole slaw? The view is, of course, unparalleled in Columbia, all of which makes for a delightful Sunday treat. We highly recommend Top of Carolina.

Our experience at Mill Pond Steakhouse was amazing from start to finish! Our server was prompt, knowledgeable, and all around great! The food was amazing and cooked to perfection!

Town Hall has really upped its game! I loved it when it first opened with Chef Bobby and even celebrated my 60th birthday in the back room!Unfortunately, when Bobby left, the menu became a bit stagnant. We moved to Austin TX which is a major foodie city. We still maintain a home in Florence but we make only infrequent visits. When we are in Florence, we generally go to Town Hall and consider it the best in Florence. Last night, we celebrated my sister’s 67th birthday and I was thrilled with the menu and the dinner would rival some of my favs in Austin‼️. We actually asked if it was a new chef and waiter, Nathon, told us that it is the same chef but there is a new manager who encourages a more “foodie” menu. My niece enjoyed her steak; it was perfectly grilled! The birthday girl loved the complimentary mussels and her duck entree was truly amazing. My mom loved the salmon which was also grilled to her request for medium. I enjoyed Shrimp and Grits but it was a bit bland—might check with Dale Barth for his spice mix—that said my plate was empty! The whole evening was perfect! The card, gift, and we loved the “reserved” frame for Roxanne’s Birthday Celebration. I used to drink Turley Zin at Town Hall which is no longer on the wine list. Nathon’s checked with the bar and brought me a taste of “by-the-glass” wine and brought out the Cab Franc which is only by the bottle. We tasted it and loved it. I took a pic of the bottle and will try to get some! We had a two year old and the coloring book and crayons to entertain her. Nathon’s wisely brought her burger and fries while we enjoyed appetizers/salads. The ensuing wait between appetizers and the entree was my only non-rave; it was a bit long but that only means there is a small opportunity to continuously improve. Thank you!!!

The Retreat never fails to provide a first rate meal and experience. Last night we had a great cauliflower soup, burger, and Nashville chicken. Each dish was excellent. Can't recommend the Retreat any more highly. You will see the difference between a cook and a chef. Not that the food is overly fancy or exotic, it's just perfectly prepared and delicious.
