Restaurants near Hotel Krone

This was, without a doubt the best service we’ve ever experienced in a restaurant from the moment we sat down to the very end. We’re from London, and I surprised my boyfriend, who is absolutely obsessed with Porsches, with a trip to Stuttgart. We were seated by the window overlooking the Porsche Museum, which gave us an incredible view of beautiful vintage Porsche cars. The service at this restaurant was absolutely impeccable. There was no rush for us to order, no interruptions while we were chatting, and no pressure to vacate the table quickly a refreshing change from what we’re used to in London. Instead we were encouraged to take our time fully savouring the champagne, the company, and the exceptional food. From the outset we were offered a selection of champagnes, brought directly to the table for us to choose from an excellent upselling technique as we didn’t even look at the menu and ended up enjoying that Porsche champagne all evening. If anyone knows its name, please tell me I’d love to buy a bottle. We were presented with various cuts of beef, shown raw, while our server explained the differences and the in house aging process. It was fascinating and added a whole new level to the dining experience. Naturally, we had to order a steak each! The steaks themselves were out of this world juicy, flavourful, and cooked to perfection. Dessert was equally impressive and the flavors didn’t disappoint. To top it off we were treated to a surprise taster dessert which was a lovely touch. The staff surprised my boyfriend with a small chocolate cake his favourite! One thing to note when we paid the bill we didn’t check it thoroughly. In London service charges are typically included but we later realised this isn’t the case in Germany. If we didn’t leave a tip, we sincerely apologise as it wasn’t intentional! Had we known, we would have been more than generous because the service absolutely deserved it!

I was looking for something a little off the beaten path for a Christmas dinner for one and came across Le Bouquet on Open Table. French-Japanese fusion sounded intriguing and I was not disappointed—it was fantastic. Very clever combination of two unique cuisine styles. The food was beautifully prepared, steaming hot, and super delicious. They had a pre-fixe menu for Christmas, so not sure what’s on the normal menu, but again, I was very pleased. Wine menu was good and varied but not so much as to be overwhelming. Service was quick and attentive but not overbearing and the staff spoke German and English (menu was German only, so brush up on your reading skills if you’re not German). About a 10 minute uphill walk from Schwabstrasse S-Bahn station. 3 course menu with amuse bouche and endless bread, plus wine, water, aperitif, and a starter was a very reasonable €109. I’ll be a repeat customer!
