Bricco has garnished superlative reviews from food writers in Boston and around the country – Best Guaranteed Meal in the North End and Best Pasta in Boston just two of the most recent accolades. The talented kitchen team creates “boutique” Italian food, so-called because it is unique, personal and created for a select and sophisticated diner. Went for lunch around 1PM on a Saturday and they gave us (a family with kids!) a nice table by the window. Had meatballs and octopus appetizers and both were good, but octopus was superlative. I had the boar/porcini tagliatelle and wife had gnocchi. Both were excellent. Kids and wife finished with bread pudding and it was delicious as well. I had an espresso martini that was fantastic for my dessert. Not a single complaint with food or atmosphere and service was on point. Only possible issue was it did seem a bit overpriced for some items, but by the time I left full and happy, I didn’t care.

This is my 4th time to Mare and it never disappoints. I have been there for my anniversary, night out with my wife, and business and it is a perfect location for any occasion. There are so many restaurants in the NEnd and it can be hard to standout but Mare is unique from all the other N.End Italian restaurants. Seafood centric but not just, it has something for everyone. It isn't your checkered cloth, red sauce, restaurant so if that's what you want you will find a couple dozen other spots that would fit the bill down the street. But if you are looking for some of the best seafood fused with Italian cuisine, great drinks, a broad wine list across multiple price points, cool vibes, and intimate dining experience with terrific staff then this is your place. I highly recommend

The food was spectacular and the service was great too. Cozy place to have dinner with a nice assortment of dishes. Love all the small plates. Also, had a great red wine from Spain that was well priced. Look forward to going back.
