Restaurants near Big Branch Marsh National Wildlife Refuge

Overall it's an amazing restaurant. You definitely need a reservation. However, the hostess was a little stuffy. We checked in and were 20 minutes early. We were told we had to wait. Walked around for 10 minutes and came back. Another couple went to check in with same reservation time as us and were going to be seated - until I stepped forward to question why before us. Once you get seated, the ambiance, service, food and personable staff make up for how the experience started. Definitely save room for dessert. Delicious

Impressive is the word that comes to mind. I usually steer clear of buffets because the quality of the food is usually sub-par. This was not the case at Palmettos. We were there for the Sunday jazz brunch. The selection of breakfast and lunch items were nothing but impressive. I tried as manny choices as my stomach would hold (a personnal pittfall with me and buffets) and everything deserved seconds except I always wanted to try something different. The setting was beautiful as well. We sat outside on the deck surrounded by cypress trees and next to the Bayou Bonfouca.

Gallagher’s is our go to place for special occasions and we are never disappointed. The steaks, service, drinks, etc are always the best. We do find the prices a little high but that is life today.

I had a fillet, which may have been the best steak I’ve ever had, and I’ve been to many great steakhouses. This was unexpected as I thought of the restaurant as an Italian place.  a waitress, Brooke, was very attentive, sweet and adorable. A Valentine date was all that needed to be. 

We throughly enjoyed our reservation tonight. We were running a few minutes late. GPS placed us at another location for the business. Our server was amazing!! Her attitude was just as great as the food! We will definitely be back!
