Tucked away in a brownstone on the Upper West Side, La Boite en Bois has been a favorite among diners since 1985. Family owned and operated, our attentive and well-trained staff will be sure to provide you with a memorable experience. As seen on Seinfeld, we are a short walk from Central Park, Lincoln Center, NYC Ballet, and the Metropolitan Opera.

With its rustic ambiance, diners are made to feel as though they are in a bistro in the French countryside. Serving classics from Escargot to Salmon to Roasted Duck to Mussels, you will be delighted with our extensive selections. We serve lunch everyday, with a variety of salads, soups, panini, and classic French dishes, such as Croque Monsieur, Seafood Crepes and Onion Soup. Come Saturday and Sunday for our Brunch, and enjoy Eggs Benedict, French Toast or a La Boite Burger.

The food was excellent as was the service. The restaurant was not crowded on a Monday night so it was extremely relaxing. The Fish stew was amazing.

We had a 5:45 dinner reservation last evening. Arrived 10 minutes early, people lined up in stairwell to get into the dungeonous small space. A hostess asked what time our reservation was, I told her, she said we would have to wait outside in the cold. The small restaurant was packed and it did not look like anyone would be leaving in 10 minutes. We left and did not return. I will never dine in this restaurant.

Saturday night and La Boîte en Bois was packed! It's a small cosy bistro and seems like everyone was there, Still the food came fast, the service was great, and the food was delicious as always We shared mussels, they were very good, The entrees were delicious and came hot, Drinks were excellent as well. The crowd did not faze this well run restaurant,

It felt like we were in Paris again! Friendly, neighborhood vibe, excellent food and drink, intimate atmosphere. Proximity to Lincoln Center was a plus, but we'd go there again just for the fine dining! This restaurant is a real "find" in the heart of NYC!
