   Was birthday dinner for 6 of us. Unfortunately not going back to one of our previously favorite places. Food was truly awful - prime rib was so thin and full of gristle that we had to send it back. Four of the remaining dishes were ok, not memorable in any was. The fifth dish (macadamia nut chicken) - chicken was fabulous but accompanying asparagus was inedible. Overall a very sad experience. Our server was very nice and I believe she was truly embarrassed at the quality of food that she had to take back to the kitchen to the chef.

   This was my first time dining at Kona Grill. When we walked in, it smelt like a mixture of old food and bleach. The atmosphere and decor were both underwhelming. It took a while for our server to take our order. He was pleasant but it felt like he was in a rush all the time which made us feel like we weren't that welcomed. We ordered the pre-fix menu with the steak. The steak was cooked perfectly. The potatoes were under cooked. The salad was tasty. Based on the price point for the restaurant we felt like places like Texas Roadhouse or Outback could run laps around this place. I'm not really sure why people like this place. It's unlikely we will be back useless there's another promotion to perhaps try again.

   Disappointing sushi roles. One of the specialty roles arrived with two of the pieces collapsed and a mess on the plate (looked exactly like the mess makes when learning to use chopsticks). They were not packed well and easily fell apart while picking up. One of the traditional roles looked “frazzled” as the rice was not even and consistent - not tightly packed. When mentioned it to the server it was explained it was his third day. Seems like more training is needed.

   We hadn’t been to Kona in a while, but the food was really good. Service was lacking a bit because we understood our server had other tables, but not overly attentive, took forever to get drinks and we had to often look for our server rather than him checking in.

   Took 30 minutes from getting our waters to have our orders taken. Then another 30 minutes to get our food. The restaurant was half empty so not sure why everything was extra slow. We celebrated our Dad’s 80th birthday and it was a let down.

   Had a wonderful meal with my friend. The waiter was excellent. Made very helpful suggestions, and the Carrot Cake dessert was outrageous! Can't wait to dine there again

   Hadn’t been to this restaurant for about 2 years. Went in for happy hour and the food did not disappoint. The young hostess with long black hair had an attitude when we asked to sit at a different table after she was trying to clean a table with a dry rag and the table was still dirty. Copped an attitude when we asked to sit somewhere else that was clean. Service was good but server seemed to be uninterested in being there.

   We hadn’t visited in probably 2 years, previously had visited fairly often for school achievement. We were truly shocked by the price increases. We eat out often, so in general expect higher prices lately, but wow, some of the exact same dishes were more than 50% higher, with smaller portions. An example was the beef fried rice, that was very similar to a frozen Costco entree (yakisoba fried rice) maybe a 2 cup serving, for almost $30. The shrimp tacos had 3 small fried shrimp, and bone dry cabbage slaw mix, that was exactly like a bag at the grocery store. The spice level was nice, but they were so dry, that our server was bringing options to “help”. Our server was great, and really tried. The main dining room was almost empty, even ‘tho it was prime dinner time. We aren’t sad we went, mostly for the nostalgia, but unfortunately can not recommend, and we won’t be returning.
