    Not impressed. Something about the vibe feels anxious and unorganized. We were seated next to a family with three small children, one screaming so loud the staff was getting annoyed. We asked to be moved. I have worked in food service. Normally a restaurant would comp the drinks for the table due to the inconvenience and the noise, but not them. Then when the main course arrived mine was undercooked, rare when it should have been well done (their fish special). They took the fish back and cooked it, and it tasted ok then. But again, when that happens a normal restaurant would comp the meal, out of embarrassment that they served an undercooked dish to a customer. Instead they took 10% off the bill. A nice but dramatically inadequate gesture.

    The recent menu change was disappointing. The prices have been increased significantly. Charging a 3% fee for use of a credit card on top of significant price increases destroys the value received.

    We had a wonderful meal. Been coming here for many years and the new owners are doing a great job. The menu has changed but the new choices are delish. Nice to see the restaurant busy ….

    Have only gone twice in the past six months but used to go regularly (1-2 times a month average). Have gone for Happy Hour and again for dinner. Quality has declined dramatically from a couple years ago. Disappointing.

    I wish I could give this place 6 stars. It was amazing!! We had 3 sushi rolls, sizzling steak, chicken katsu carbonara, the sashimi platter and the crusted Mahi. Everything was incredible. The service was wonderful, Our server Malia was so kind and attentive. The atmosphere of the restaurant was perfect. I highly highly recommend!!

    Most of the food was good, but not great. Fresh / real wasabi is a nice touch. It felt a bit like a Japanese restaurant trying to cater to American tastes (which could be a positive or a negative depending on what you’re seeking). Our biggest issue was confusion with the menu. The menu at the restaurant didn’t match the online menu, we received two different menus at our table (half of which were outdated), then several of the drinks listed on the latest menu were not available.

    Having worked in the restaurant industry, I don’t take writing a poor review lightly. Food was not good. Service was not good. I ordered the rib eye steak and it was not very good quality. It seemed like the same thin, lower quality steak, I would buy at my local grocery store. We also ordered the poached mussels which were flavorless; hard to do. You are charged for all side dishes and our Brussels sprouts were served at the very end of our meal. Waited 35 min for a cocktail. Lots of excuses by the server. Seems like this was once a very good restaurant (which is why we booked) with reasonable prices and excellent service. It is none of those today. It was sold to a new owner and prices jacked up, 3% credit card fee added, charges for sides and steak sauces extra, service poor. The website hasn’t even been updated and we heard it’s been under new ownership for several months now. All of these things could be forgiven if the food was great or even pretty good but it is not. We overheard issues at neighboring tables as well so it wasn’t just us. Don’t make the same mistake we did. Dine elsewhere.

    We are very disappointed with what has happened to Kenichi Pacific. First we noticed a 3% credit card surcharge. Then a very big change in menu with our favorite items now missing. My rib eye steak is now a la cart with everything else a spendy add on. They even charged me $5 for the dipping sauce! Our favorite sushi items are missing and the new ones are smaller and not as good. This was our favorite restaurant, but not anymore. Whoever is managing it now only cares about the bottom line.
