Kendells Bistro is a casual Informal place to dine with the main focus on quality of food, wine and service within a French bistro atmosphere. It’s relaxed and informal - no waiters topping up wine glasses after every sip or sneaking up behind you with a six foot pepper mill. Cloth napkins but not starched, blackboard menus and open plan kitchen, intimate cosy candles flickering, friendly without pretence.

We have visited Kendals a number of times and not only was it fabulous on this occasion, it has been consistently brilliant for years. The food is great , not overly manipulated , authentic french cuisine . The service is exceptional. Even when it's extremely busy everything is timely , perfectly served and of a great quality. Would heartily reccomend Kendal's to anyone.

Beautiful food in this gorgeous restaurant. On arrival the ambiance took our breath away. Couldn’t fault the service very attentive staff. The food and wine was Devine with a fabulous choice on the menus. Just one complaint but unfortunately it spoilt our visit, there was a table of 18 behind us having their Christmas party and the noise was ridiculous we actually couldn’t talk on our table as couldn’t hear ourselves. I understand there are a lot of Christmas parties at this time and have been to many myself but I feel this restaurant isn’t right for such parties. I did mention it when leaving and was informed that due to the closures during Covid they had to take as many bookings as they could. I understand but it was disappointing.

The staff and the food are always very good here. It was very noisy however, probably due to the time of year when people finish work and go out to eat as a group, pre-Christmas. It could have been improved if the management realised that when the "background" music was off, between songs, the general noise level of the customers reduced noticeably but only until the next song arrived. This tells me that the background music was far too loud for restaurant ambience. If we come here again we will wait until later in the evening and not turn up during the "festive" season. We have been here a lot of times in the past and would not like to cross it off our list of reliably pleasant food served by lovely staff.

A lovely evening. Staff were courteous and attentive without being overbearing. We had theatre tickets so they ensured we were done in plenty of time, without making us feel rushed. Food was fabulous, we had the teatime set menu which is great value for money.

The food, service and ambience are all great. It is not cheap but we really enjoyed everything we had and there was plenty of food. If I had one tiny complaint it would be the ladies toilet. Two out of three toilets were out of order and two of the sinks however this did not detract from a lovely evening.

Went here for my son’s 21st birthday. Food was excellent and the staff made it feel a special occasion with being OTT.

Food was amazing. Service really good and the ambience lovely. Our table was small though so a bit of a squeeze for 4 of us. Will go back. An enjoyable evening
