Located in Pittsburgh’s Strip District, Kaya is a casual, island-inspired restaurant with colorful mosaics, tribal art and exposed brick walls that whisks customers away to exotic shores as they walk through the door. Kaya serves both traditional island dishes and American favorites with an island twist. Tropas (tropical tapas) sandwiches and entrees are all made with local ingredients and bold flavors. And with its classic preparations paired with exciting seasonal offerings, Kaya’s tropical cocktail list is like a vacation in a glass.

    The food was good, not amazing but good. The jerk chicken was tasty, but I wouldn't call it authentic Caribbean food. They did have a variety of sandwiches and appetizers.

    We had an Exceptional dinner at Kaya this evening! The service and food were outstanding from the moment we entered the door, and the ambiance was uplifting. If you haven’t been to a “Fried Chicken Thursday” at Kaya, you are missing out! The apple butter BBQ sauce was the best I ever had. The chicken was perfectly prepared with delicious sides of spicy slaw and cornbread. Great experience!! Thanks for a wonderful evening!

    I absolutely love Kaya! I am so lucky to live in the neighborhood because that means I can be a frequent flyer to this restaurant. Definitely my favorite in The Strip. This evening’s experience was really nice because even though it was just myself and my boyfriend they reserved us a 4 top table in the back which was so cozy! We felt like VIPs! Please opt for a reservation. I observe tourists all of the time thinking they can just walk in and get sat, especially if your party is bigger than two.

    Three out of four of us were happy with the food. One entree, the carrot and broccoli paella, was lukewarm and tasted as if it had been prepared hours ago. Not up to the usual standard I’ve come to expect at big burrito restaurants. Noise level was a little too high.
