The Kartoffelkiste is a German-inspired restaurant whose name literally means "the potato box". Of course several delicious potato specialties fill the menu but that is far from everything offered here. The giant pork knuckle and Berlin curry sausage in particular are both big hits with locals and travelers alike. Perfectly situated in the heart of Berlin, The Kartoffelkiste is brief stroll to attractions like the Berlin Zoo, the Kaiser Wilheim Memorial Church and famous department store KaDeWe. This makes The Kartoffelkiste the perfect rest stop after a day in the city or the best way to begin an evening out.

We had fabulous service from a lovely waitress. My partner had a litre of the cherry beer which he was very pleased about. The plates were massive and provided a great deal of hearty food. There was lots of choice and the menu was available in a variety of languages (and the staff seemed capable with all of them!). A very nice family style restaurant , situated on the top floor of the Europe Centre, which was easy to find once we got inside. Definitely worth a visit for a casual dining experience.

My food was excellent how ever my wife was ill from red cabbage served. Water a little quirky tell us the food we ordered would be too much?? On the whole apart from my wife de experience it was nice. I little difficult to find as on 2nd floor of euro centre

Folgene Gerichte wurden gegessen: 3 mal Hirschgulasch, wobei alles in Soße schwamm und der Rotkohl zusammengekocht war, vermutlich mehrfach aufgewärmt. 1 mal Leber mit Röstkartoffeln, alles schwamm in Soße und es waren nur 3 kleine Stücke Leber. Das Holzfällersteak und das Eisbein waren okay.
