   Wonderful service and delicious food in a charming restaurant. I’m gluten free and the choices for what I can eat was very refreshing to see.

   We’re busy parents. Both work. When we have an opportunity to get out together for a nice dinner, expectations are high. Ivy was fine. We were seated upstairs by an unused bar with a Bluetooth speaker playing too loudly. The service was prompt, but inattentive. Food was under seasoned and lacked flavor. Drinks were fine. $140 for the two person experience. If you’re like us and really want to make the most of the limited opportunities that you have, I’d try someplace else.

   Surprised to see the great reviews? Maybe we were singled out because we look different? As frequent diners downtown Wheaton, all four of us came away extremely disappointed and we will NEVER return: 1. Placed in a dark little back room. 2. Waitress didn’t tell us about the specials. 3. Nobody cleared our app plates and empty glasses, our table was completely full. 4. Food was luke warm or cold. 5. Food qualty was average at best for a higher end place. There is a reason we don’t frequent Ivy, it is a complete disaster and shocked it’s still open with the much better newer options in town.

   The food was excellent, the atmosphere in a former church was very different and interesting. One puzzling thing: When we made the reservation on Open Table we were asked if we were celebrating anything. We noted that we were celebrating our anniversary (53 years). However, the occasion was not noted by the restaurant. Just curious why we are asked about an occasion when it was not acknowledged. I wonder if it is a lack of communication between Open Table and the restaurants, because the same thing happened a couple of years ago at Meson Sabika. Otherwise it was a nice evening.

   Awesome Food , especially the peppercorn filet bites, the Salmon, the Seafood Pappadalle & The featured fish...grilled yellowtail! Kathy our Server was friendly & Great! However, the location we sat this time under the alcove, was way too loud, they sat us in between large groups, therefore the 4 of us good hardly hear each other! Dick was charming as usual!

    Excellent food (beef bourguignon and seafood pappardelle), good service and a beautiful atmosphere. Always enjoy going to Ivy!
