Flesh & Buns Covent Garden, from the team behind Bone Daddies and Shackfuyu, is located within the bustling Seven Dials area in Covent Garden. Inspired by Japanese izakayas, roughly translated as a pub or place designed for informal eating and drinking, Flesh & Buns is the first restaurant in London to specialise in gua bao buns (DIY filled steamed buns).
Below street-level, the restaurant has a bar area offering bar dining for up to 10 people, serving a variety of sake brands and a diverse range of cocktails including the signature Frozen Yuzu Margarita, alongside the restaurant’s varied sharing food menu. Draped fabric ‘noren’ screen curtains surround intimate dining booths and transport diners to an authentic Japanese drinking den experience – bookable and ideal for groups of friends or colleagues meeting for lunch, dinner or Flesh & Buns’ ever-popular Sunday Brunch.

Great food and epic wings and buns! Service also excellent - only complaint is the toilets needed a clean 😄

Interesting range of food with good service. Not keen on the greasy rice with a fried egg on top would have much preferred more Bao Buns. Menu could possibly do with a little more info for those that haven't eaten there before.

When we arrived at the restaurant on time, they took our place without keeping us waiting, but the options that came with the Japanese grilled chicken and the stuffing in the pictures were very small. The maki sushi and the mix sushi plate were nice. We ordered beer, we had to remind the waiters to come every time. I think the number of employees should be increased, you can try it once, so don't have too many expectations.

Lovely restaurant, very quiet when we arrived but the atmosphere built . Food was okay for us , a bit of a journey of discovery, as we don’t normally eat sushi. Price was high per person, but I suppose you have to expect this given the location .

Strong recommend. Food is excellent. Restaurant is downstairs and big. Slightly difficult to create an amazing ambience if it’s not busy

Food is always solid. Service started well and really tailed off. We had to ask several times for drinks and for our food to come to the table.
