Five Horses Tavern is conveniently located in Davis Square, walking distance of the Red Line, Somerville Theater, Tufts University, Davis Square Theater and Porter Square.

Our mission is to serve modern American comfort food, incorporating locally sourced ingredients, with many vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. Our friendly staff will make a memorable experience whether you join us for lunch, dinner or our highly acclaimed weekend brunch.

We are a fantastic venue for hosting large groups and intimate dinners. Our Bar offers a wide variety of craft beers from around the world, boasting 37 draft beers, 120 bottles, signature cocktails and a thoughtfully selected wine list.

Join us on the patio or saddle up to the bar and admire our selection of over 150 bourbons and whiskies from around the globe.

Reservations are recommended, however walk-ins are always welcome!

Things quieted down as the brunch crowd started to leave. It was nice that there was no pressure to leave. We sat and chatted for a long time after lunch. Service was great.

Our server was lovely, the food was the best brunch we’ve had for a while, and the seating spacious and comfortable. I had the huevos rancheros and the balance of salt and tang was perfect for this dish. Our kids dish was a straight up cheese and red sauce pizza, which was delicious with cheese that stretched. The mimosa had the right balance of bubbly to OJ, and diner style steaming black coffee made us all smile. Definitely an experience to repeat!

Great food! Great location at Davis Square. Near the theater where we saw a show afterwards. Fast and friendly service. We’ll definitely return 😊

Nice atmosphere. Table beside the fireplace. Good variety of food, choices, and beers. There is public meter parking close to the restaurant.

A group of 5 of us went pre-theater (so, really early, 5:30pm) on a Saturday, and it was pretty quiet and pleasant. Our server was very attentive and did a great job. The food was good, one person had a hamburger and loved it, two had the salmon burger and enjoyed it, and I enjoyed the salmon with garlic and honey (on soba noodles). Drinks were good, beer choices were excellent. Consensus was this is not the place to go if you like great wine, however. But hey, lot of other choices! We enjoyed it, and would go back.
