Il Colosseo is an Italian restaurant that is a local favorite. The dining room here is small and intimate, which adds to the homey atmosphere the eatery provides. At the back of the dining room, Il Colosseo has an open kitchen where guests can watch as the talented kitchen staff prepares the food.     I first dined at Tamarind in 2000 or 2001, pre 9/11. They were at a different location then--smaller but also wonderful. This time at the Tamarind I was delighted by the same levels of hospitality and care, and I was impressed by the excellent staff who waited on each table. The food is spectacular! Try as many of the dishes as you can. I went for the tasting menu. The scallops were simply outstanding, as was the cauliflower. The lemon rice with all the fixings, and the desserts--the kulfi was out of this world --made for a perfect meal. Wonderful wonderful wonderful!

    I had a lovely time celebrating my birthday with family here. Beautiful interior, comfortable seating, and good music. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable, and the food was delish on top of it all! Will definitely be back :)
