For the last 18 years, Joe Hennes and his wife Ellen have been building a family-oriented meeting place for friends to gather at Sloppy Joe's Saloon and Spoon in Hubertus. In December 2020, they purchased this property, and brought the philosophy of food, fun, and laughter from Washington County to Lake Country. They renamed the property Smoke on the Water to reflect the revamped menu which includes a large selection of home-smoked meat items.     We eat here several times each year and have never had a bad meal. Their focus is on smoked meats, but they offer many other choices as well. We made our choices from their Valentines menu which were all very tasty. What stood out this time was having interactions with the owner, the manager, and the chef, who all stopped at our table and engaged in conversation at various times during our stay. A draw in the nicer months are the beautiful lake view and the availability of patio seating.

    Our waiter Aiden was wonderful! He was very friendly, polite, and attentive. He checked on us all night. He even had the chef come over and tell us how he made the amazing Mac n cheese! Wonderful meal- will be going back.
