Best Restaurants with Great Beer in Whitehall

Such a great experience here! The food was amazing, and they had plenty of GF options. The chicken tandoori was best I’ve ever had!

It was my third time at Union & Finch and it has always been a good experience. Yesterday the only complaint was the “grilled shrimp” was barely grilled/cooked. It smelled like raw shrimp when it was delivered to the table. I sent it back and it just wasn’t good. No flavor and just overall not good quality. My husband got the burger and it was a dry patty. I would say they shine for breakfast, but not the other dishes.

While our server was very pleasant and efficient it just wasn't my type of restaurant. Loud, busy. The pizza oven was broken so that eliminated my first choice (which I never order as a meal when out at a restaurant). The Caesar salad was basically croutons and lettuce because the dressing and cheese were nearly non-existent. That must be the standard because another person at our table ordered the same salad and experienced the same thing.

I was pleasantly surprised by the ambiance and quality of Sports and Social in Allentown across from the PPL Center. Sports an Social is a sports themed restaurant with two bars and plenty of seating both in tables and booths. The food is a notch or two above the standard fare as the menu selections are more varied and some are unique for a sports bar. Check their online. I had a buttermilk chicken sandwich and opted for a sweet Thai chili sauce rather than the Nashville hot. The sandwich was tasty and moist and the fries were good, not dry nor overly salted. We ordered coffee which was fresh and brought to our table is a carafe. Our server was attentive and friendly. The restaurant was two-thirds full but yet the noise level not overly loud. You could talk without shouting and hear without lip-reading. Of course, televisions are large and plentiful. We will return.

Everything at McCalls is great ! Ive never had food I didn’t like and the beer might be the best in the Lehigh Valley.
