- BBrendanChicago / Illinois •3 reviews5.0Dined todaySecond time going to Boka, and it has cemented its place as my favorite location to eat in Chicago. While it isn't cheap, the food is top-tier, creative, and explained by the staff when brought out, so you know exactly what it is you're enjoying; the staff are very kind and accomodating, the bartenders even remembered me from visiting over a month ago. They re-seated my friend, who had a separate reservation, next to me, when room opened up, so we could sit together and talk. This is a fantastic restaurant, with amazing staff, and is always a delightful experience. Highlights: - Kind, accomodating, and enjoyable staff - Great dishes, creative, tasty - perfectly cooked - Lovely atmosphere - Just lively enough that you feel alright laughing and having fun with your friends, quiet and low-light enough that it can feel romantic or intimate if that's your aim.More infoBokaPrice: Expensive• Contemporary American• Lincoln Park•4.8
- JJamesChicago / Illinois •1 review5.0Dined 2 days agoWe were celebrating our 56th wedding anniversary at dinner at Mon Ami Gabi. The food, the wines, the server Michelle, and festive atmosphere of the Restaurant Week in Chicago made it one of the most memorable wedding anniversaries we have ever had. Michelle new not only about the wines they had, but also about the regions of their origins. It was a delight to talk with someone who knows so much about wine! It was a wonderful evening for us. We live in Freeport, Illinois, a two to three hour drive from downtown So, even though we had never been to Mon Ami Gabi (my friend, Gabi) we felt a very warm and sincere welcome. Every seat was filled with an enthusiastic group of diners. We could hear pleasant voices all around us, and we did not have to listen to any piped in background music. The coq au vin that I had was covered with red wine reduction sauce.. The escargot was different from what we are used to, with more herbs than garlic. The triple scoop ice cream with cream puffs and hot fudge desert was perfect for us If you are planning to go during restaurant week , I would offer that reservations for the best times fill up early, so don't wait until two weeks to go like I did. Altogether, a very special French bistro. a fine restaurant. Sincerely. Jim French WMore infoMon Ami GabiPrice: Moderate• French• Lincoln Park•4.8

Our server Claire helped us pick out an off menu Bordeaux when our original selection was out. Definitely get the duck dinner for two!! And the truffle profiteroles were a perfect end to the dinner. I already want to go back!!More infoLe Bouchon - ChicagoPrice: Expensive• French• Bucktown / Wicker Park•4.8

It was one of the best meals I’ve had in awhile. The pappardelle, stracci, trout almondine, and the desserts are out of this world. Hands down best pastry chef… don’t skip the dessert. The service was great and the ambiance was on point. I would recommend Daisies for everyone.More infoDaisies ChicagoPrice: Expensive• American• Logan Square•4.8

Our server was great, explaining everything and he was spot on the sauces were to die for complementing the food very well, my favorite were the spicy ones and the dill and chimichurri.More infoGeja's CafePrice: Expensive• Fondue• Lincoln Park•4.8
