We arrived a little early and were given a tour of the lovely hotel from a gentleman at the valet station whose name I unfortunately can’t recall. We were allowed to see Room 2 also known as the Watermelon Room. It was a well appointed space that I would love to return and stay in. We were moved to music/billiard room as we were the only guests. Emma, our server, had an amazing knowledge of teas. We were provided a sniffing board that we could use to smell each tea while she explained each tea. We learned everything from how they were made and how they are best served. We both selected Equitea ( a local company)Teas. The tea was delicious and the pastries were some of the best I’ve had. Emma was also very knowledgeable of the area and explained the neighborhood’s history with musical anecdotes. Magdalena has drinks that celebrate many local musicians. I really enjoyed myself and look forward to returning.More infoMagdalenaPrice: Expensive• Bistro• Mt. Vernon•4.8

The Rusty Scupper does this in a top shelf fashion. This is not your typical low end or medium end restaurant style buffet. This is exceptional quality food, the attendants make sure that every tray is warm and filled and the table service is phenomenal. This is the second year that I have died there on Thanksgiving day and it is a cherished event. If you have not tried it, you need to.
