Best Neighborhood Gem Restaurants in Bayville

618 is one of our favorite local restaurants. We dine there at least once a month (our waitress, Alexis, told us that we have dined 25 times so far). Alexis, our server, was friendly and helpful. She greeted us with a smile and took our drink order. The meal began with a basket of delicious bread with butter and sea salt. I opted for my favorite cocktail, the Spicy Boi. It's made with Reposado Tequila, Ancho Chile, and passion fruit juice. It has the right mixture of sweet, refreshing, with a spicy kick. We opened our meal by sharing a lobster tostada appetizer from the specials menu. Chunks of lobster tossed with pickled onions, pineapple, queso fresco, served over a crisp tortilla. For entrees my wife had the 8 oz Filet Mignon and I had the Cajun Shrimp and Grits. Both were perfectly cooked. Looking forward to our next visit.

We had a very good time at Barrel & Roost. Food was very good. My husband’s swordfish was cooked to perfection. And he is very cautious about eating fish out. Our server Samantha was excellent. Very accommodating and always checking on us. Kudos to you Sam!

2024 Christmas Eve dinner. Fruitta di Mar was excellent. Fried calamari was good but a bit over cooked. Carpaccio was excellent. Chicken Savoy was also overdone and dry inside. Seafood fra diavolo was excellent. Chicken capriccio was delicious. Halibut was great. Dylan was very attentive and the many servers from the kitchen were impressive. Italian cheesecake was superb. We had a better experience two yrs ago for a birthday dinner but still Highly recommended.

We had a delicious early Christmas Eve dinner. I had a whole baked artichoke heart which is my favorite. Main dish poached lobster, so succulent. I also enjoyed a mistletoe cocktail. My husband had the oysters and braised lamb shank. Everything was perfect. This is one of our favorite restaurants.

Awesome restaurant! Everything from start to finish is top notch. The staff makes every meal a special occasion.
