Food is delicious, a very cozy ambiance—one side of the restaurant host great bands and musicians on certain days and the staff’s very attentive! - LLaurenVIPPhiladelphia County •7 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoWhat a nice surprise! Black-Eyed Sally’s has a great menu with a variety of Southern favorites. We ordered fried green tomatoes, followed by chicken & ribs bbq and blackened catfish. Both were excellent, including the suggested sides. Our Mississippi mojitos were good. We also enjoyed the band (note: noise level was a 4 when the band was playing). The decor is eclectic and music themed. Our server Tee was great (is everyone in Hartford this friendly??). We’d definitely recommend Sally’s!More infoBlack-Eyed Sally'sPrice: Moderate• Southern• Hartford•4.3

- KKevinNew York City •10 reviews5.0Dined 3 days agoFood is as as usual expertly prepared On our visit so-called mission figs appetizer were not indeed mission figs (they’re black; this one was brown) and frankly a little stingy. There were four quarters of a tiny brown fig spread across a bed of about 10 arugula leaves, two large sugar encrusted walnut chunks and 3 large lumps of ricotta. Really. Just 1 fig cut into quarters. Not sure what the problem was, but if the kitchen stock was low, why not just take them off the menu until availability improved. Anyway, just a disappointment We had an early reservation since the noise level here can be problematic. Nevertheless the waitress seemed too tired to be at work that late afternoon. Normally we have great experiences here.More infoPeppercorns GrillPrice: Expensive• Italian• Hartford•4.7
- SScottVIPNew York City •57 reviews5.0Dined 3 days agoAn absolute exquisite dining experience with incredible service, fine wines, and a wonderful cozy atmosphere. This is absolutely my favorite restaurant! Is the only place that I go where I never put anything on the steak. No salt or pepper or anything. The way it is seasoned and the way it comes is perfect every time. I’ve been going to J. Gilbert for 25 years and it’s amazing that I’ve never had to send anything back to the kitchen. They are so careful in their preparation and so precise. Such high-quality food. It’s also the restaurant I go to for every one of my birthdays!More infoJ.
