Best Historic Restaurants in Ellesmere Port

The food was exceptional as was the value as there was a 2 for 1 menu which we did not anticipate. I booked for my daughter's birthday and they immediately welcomed her with a 'Happy Birthday' and a glass of prossecco. Such a lovely touch. The service was excellent and very attentive. I would not hesitate to recommend and we will definitely be returning.

Early evening meal for a family birthday celebration. Restaurant was quiet as it was early, so atmosphere low key. Excellent food and service, topped of by staff putting a birthday candle on my sons Tiramisu - a nice touch. Overall very good, a really enjoyable dinner

Ok atmosphere with pleasant staff. Good prompt attention and food and drinks came within a reasonable time. Foot was nice and hot. I had the fish which was huge. My wife had the lamb and asked for it pink and it came pink. One niggle was when wanting to pay the bill and add a tip on my card Couldn’t add it to bill had to use a separate 'tip machine' which adds 38p to the tip. So you get charged to tip. Only 38p but niggled me.

Good pub grub. Service was slow but ok. Table needed a good clean, felt sticky. Otherwise, good value for money, fairly busy. I would recommend booking if you want to eat.

Really enjoyed the food. Just the right amount for us. We were there celebrating our wedding anniversary and the restaurant gave me a free glass of Prosecco 😊
