Best Historic Restaurants in Kitsilano

I understand New Year is a busy day but the dishes were served in such a rush. Three hot dishes came on the table within a span of 5 mins and then came the appetizer. 2 people spent only 90 mins from sitting in to leaving is a bit ridiculous considering the cost of money.

Came here for happy hour! We ordered oysters, calamari, crab and corn fritters, lobster and shrimp rolls, and a glass of bubbly! The oysters were great, but the rest of the portions were a little small. The service was really friendly and the ambiance was really festive, which we enjoyed.

We had a great time here! Steph was our server and she was amazing!! Very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. She helped us with all our questions and was super attentive. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great. It’s clear why it’s such a popular place!

I have only eaten steak here which has been fabulous and this time I went for seafood in the form of Garlic Shrimp and Fresh Oysters. The Garlic Shrimp were quite large and very filling especially if you order sides (I ordered Field Mushrooms and Asparagus). The sauce was buttery and perfectly garlicky and one thing I should have done which I will do for next time is save some of the Cheese Toast to soak up the rest of the sauce because they were very generous with it! Or get a side of potatoes to enjoy the sauce with! I was here on my own and my server John was attentive in just the right amounts and provided the perfect amount of small talk while leaving me to read my book. While I usually come here with my husband, I would definitely come back to Gotham for another solo date as everyone in the restaurant from the hostess to server made me feel at ease. Everyone was so intuitive and the hospitality level is like no other. Thank you for a wonderful night!

As always when we go, dinner was really good! We have our favourite menu items (do not take the ribs off the menu) and we tried a couple new items. The drinks are outstanding. The only down side was that the noise was a little too much but it was the Xmas season and we had a great table at the window. We will return again soon!!
