Best Historic Restaurants in Dedham

Our second year spending thanksgiving dinner with the folks at the Oak Long Bar. We showed up an hour early for our reservation and they sat us immediately. The food and service was exceptional. King salmon cooked perfectly and a sea bass ceviche that was oh so good. The grilled peppers were also exquisite. If you’re in Boston and looking for an alternative to some fixed menu thanksgiving drudgery, this is the spot.

Only negative for today was the terrible valet service. After waiting 15 minutes we decided to find a garage and park ourselves. Understandably it was a rainy day but cars were lined up down the street waiting to be parked or at least see a valet. Definitely not a good day for the valet attendants. Once inside our experience was amazing as always.

Fun Friendsgiving lunch. Good good and the service was great too.

The manager went out of his way to make our family group of 8 comfortable. He had the loud music turned very low so we could have a conversation. The food was excellent! I had the best steak - 12 oz. prime sirloin perfectly cooked to medium with garlic mashed potatoes and side green salad. Others had wonderful crab cakes and miso glazed bass. At our request we had a table apart from others, but in general the tables are well spaced and the restaurant is spacious.

Super delicious, beautiful banquette in the wall, excellent drinks. Recipes you won’t find anywhere else—just a fantastic experience.
