Izakaya Den is Denver’s popular Japanese gastropub, modeled after the lively after hours establishments found throughout Japan. The restaurant is located on South Pearl Street and is the second restaurant of the Kizaki brothers, founders and owners of Sushi Den. The menu is arranged in a tapas style, serving traditional Japanese small plates along with dishes infused with international flavors and textures. The more traditional Japanese offerings include sashimi and nigiri, sourced from daily fish shipments from around the globe, along with dumplings and noodle dishes.     I booked for some friends of mine I knew would be as excited about the ambiance & architecture as I was & Stellar Jay did not disappoint. The view was phenomenal for city atmosphere & I can’t wait to return in the spring for warm weather patio vibes. I wished they had an outdoor fire pit, that’s something I would have loved as an addition. The menu was unique & the food delicious. The staff were knowledgeable, friendly & offered great recommendations. I loved watching the chiefs prepare the food openly & the roasted fire aroma was intoxicating. Really enjoyed this visit!

    Amazing experience! Started with the prosciutto, a pinot grigio, and had the tagliatelle, followed by the torta. It was all so wonderful! HIGHLY recommend the tagliatelle!! I sat at the bar, where Caesar waited on me, and he was exceptional. Highly attentive but not over-bearing; he was personable and friendly. I loved the ambiance as well. It should also be said, Caesar went above and beyond, and is an expert in his craft! Make a reservation, and you will not be disappointed.
