It was excellent- good food and great value and the festive decorations were beautiful. Staff were attentive and friendly and we will most certainly be back !More infoThe Woodmans ArmsPrice: Moderate• British• Newcastle upon Tyne•4.3

The food quality, presentation and taste were outstanding. This is not the cheapest venue by far, but you pay for what you get. The bread platter we shared was a great start before our king prawn starters, both excellent. My main of beef fillet and short rib was melt in the mouth. My partners beef feather blade was as equally tender. Bothe deserts cheesecake and "Apple" were both excellent. The evening rounded off with two stunning cocktails. Well worth a visit.More infoBranches RestaurantPrice: Very Expensive• British• Newcastle upon Tyne•4.9
- CChristineNewcastle and Northumberland •5 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoA great family 30th birthday lunch. 6 adults, a 4 year old and 2 babies. Not an easy group to take out for lunch. We had the private side room which worked very well. The staff were lovely, and in particular Bonnie - who was our main server- was so accommodating and patient. The food was also fabulous! - HHarryHertfordshire •6 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoTucked away close to Newcastle's thousand-year-old castle, the French Quarter is a gem that provides a memorable dining experience. It offers a harmonious blend of exceptional food, warm service, and an inviting ambience. The menu is thoughtfully curated, with French-inspired dishes that highlight a perfect marriage of flavours and freshness. On my visit, I began with an exquisite Rillettes de Porc with some off-menu toasted bread. I followed this with an indulgent Bœuf Bourguignon accompanied by a tangy Gratin Dauphinois and fresh Haricot Vert. The staff were an absolute delight—attentive, friendly, and passionate about their work. They were happy to make recommendations, explaining food combinations with detail and enthusiasm. Every interaction felt personal, adding an extra layer of warmth to my visit. The restaurant offered subtle touches of a French bistro, a cosy yet sophisticated charm. It's perfect for both intimate dinners and lively group get-togethers. It's not budget dining, but the quality of the food, impeccable service, and overall experience justify the cost. Portions are generous, and each dish feels crafted with care. Whether you're a fan of French cuisine or just looking for a memorable culinary experience, the French Quarter delivers on all fronts. I will certainly return.More infoThe French QuarterPrice: Expensive• French• Newcastle upon Tyne•4.8
