At KELP we take our time to make sure the food that goes on your plate is a fresh and local as possible. We source our seafood to be specifically Scottish and sustainable. We pride ourselves on using local suppliers for all our food. The fish people supply our fresh seafood daily. Our bread comes from Soja bakehouse, a family owned bakery in Cumbernauld. Our meat comes from ABR butchers, based in Bearsden. Our executive chef, Christopher Hutchison, creates amazing, innovative dishes to be enjoyed and shared with friends and loved ones. We now have an AA rosette for 2023/2024 to highlight his and the teams amazing work. We are located on Cowcaddens Road, just around the corner from our sister restaurant, Ardnamurchan Restaurant and Bar and a stones throw from the theatre royal. Perfect for a meal before a show.     An incredible meal for a special occasion, I went for Valentine’s Day and it was the best meal I have had for a long time. A great atmosphere with live dancers, music and staff where extremely attentive. We ordered two tacos, a sharing meat platter with fries and the churros to finish. Everything was cooked to perfection.

    Good food, piping hot and served quickly. Reasonable prices. Also, the toilets (gents) were clean and tidy—always a sign of a well-managed restaurant. I am sure the ladies toilet was the same, but I didn't see them.

    Velvet Sparrow has never disappointed. Sean and his team are at the top of their game. Great food Great service Great atmosphere. Unfortunately Velvet Sparrow is closing on Sunday 9th February. Sean and his team will be greatly missed. Best wishes guys, look forward to catching up with you in the future. I’m sure it won’t be too long until you’re back.
