It all began with a love story and a dream. Linwood, a chef, and Ellen, a reporter, met 36 years ago in a restaurant of course! They married and began to envision that someday they would open a restaurant of their own. The restaurant’s first business plan was written at their dining room table on an electric typewriter. In 1988 Linwoods opened its doors, and it has been a labour of love for more than thirty years. Linwoods’ cuisine consists of the freshest ingredients, and inventive preparation. Our service is warm and attentive. We have developed a reputation for consistency an attention to detail. These qualities are key to our catering business as well. It was my girlfriend’s birthday so I wanted to treat her to a nice dinner. We have heard of Linwoods but have never been. I made the reservation on Open Table…I received a call to confirm my appointment. I wrote on the reservation that it would be my girlfriend’s birthday so the waiter Ami (sp?) greeted her with a happy birthday wish and brought out a homemade s’mores dessert with a custom marshmallow. We both had fish, I had the pan seared Halibut and she had the Salmon. She opted for the Malbec and I had an Old Fashioned with Angel’s Envy bourbon! The best!

I was there for an early lunch and loved that they served breakfast until 2 o’clock! I had the French toast, which was very good and the bacon, which was amazing! I would definitely go back again!
