Carlos@b&v brings the finer side of dining and service to this unique little part of North London, on the Green in Winchmore Hill, a stone's throw from the mainline station of the same name and a short drive from Southgate on the end of the Piccadiily Line. Carlos himself is a restauranteur with flair, having built a reputation in the area over 30 years and so his experience with executing a dynamic and slick establishment brings much to be excited about. Guests will get that familiar 'welcome back' feeling even if they happen to be newcomers. The interiors are comfortably chic but inviting, with a warm ambience and the atmosphere is busy and vibrant. Live music and niche little magic entertainers are a regular occurrence. With an open alfresco feel in the summer, looking out on to the Green itself and a pavement terrace in warmer months too. Tom was our server and he was outstanding. Friendly, patient, helpful, informative, engaging but not over powering. We took up the recommendation of the special of chicken in white wine sauce with apple and chestnuts and shared a portion of country vegetables and chips. It was absolutely delicious and arrived very quickly. The portion sizes were ideal and everything arrived hot and well cooked. We were seated upstairs as it was a more relaxed and cosy area with deep green walls and lots of interesting pictures. We decided to have dessert and I can highly recommend the cheesecake. Tom even delivered a complimentary scoop of ice cream as we were celebrating, so very thoughtful. I highly recommend the restaurant.

It was our 2nd visit to the Script as we enjoyed the first one on Fathers Day very much. Unfortunately we weren’t as happy this time. The lamb in the roast was like a doorstop and the cauliflower cheese was a bit watery and the roast potatoes were a bit underdone. The club sandwich was extremely bad. Not really sure how you can make a club sandwich bad?? A lot of bread and not much inside. The chicken and bacon were very overdone and inedible. All we were offered was a complimentary coffee!
