Best Vegan Restaurants in Oyster Bay

I brought my niece here. First time for both of us. Superb! I had the Smoked Old Fashioned cocktail, with the smoke adding a nice layer of flavor to the drink. The layering of flavors was the theme at Rustic Root. We shared the crispy Brussel Sprouts and Crispy Artichokes. Again, excellent layering of flavors with just the right amount of spice to both. For our main dishes I had the Scallops with Snap Pea Risotto and my nice ordered the Roasted Local Cauliflower with Farro. Again superb on both, especially my niece's dish. Many vegetarian meals in restaurants have no real depth to the flavors in the dish but here it did. My only suggestion would be to possibly offer two vegetarian dishes on the menu rather than just one. An excellent evening from beginning to end. Will be adding Rustic Root to my list of favorites and will definitely be back.

ordered from the price fixe menu.. $40.95 for glass of wine, appetizer, entree and dessert. Had the caesar salad (excellent), salmon and brussell sprouts (also excellent) and raspberry sorbet. Bread basket with hummus was also good, just should have been put on the table sooner. Service was good. Beautiful fireplace, but not overly decorated for Christmas. just some poinsiettas. I recommend and would go back.

Food and drink were delicious and service was great as well.

Has the lunch menu which is great value: mushroom veloute and branzino a la plancha. The dining room was full at lunchtime on a weekday which was surprising. Service was nevethless efficient and dishes were served promptly and cooked to perfection. Never a surprise at L"Escale.
