We've been serving the people of Braintree and beyond since 2015 and in that time have humbly become ‘one of Essex’s best restaurants.’ We have received recognition from the AA, having been awarded an AA Rosette for ‘culinary excellence’ for five consecutive years, and then in 2023 we received our second rosette, putting the restaurant amongst the top 10 restaurants in Essex. Our food is of course one of our main focuses, but we don’t just stop there.     We had a lovely experience with fantastic service and absolutely loved the food. They remembered it was my wife's 40th birthday and made a special gesture with a card and candle. We were so full from the savory dishes that we weren't planning on dessert. However, after a while of chatting, we were tempted and tried their Black Forest pancake. Wow, wow, wow! We are so glad we stayed a little longer. We'll definitely be back again soon. Nel and Dharmz

    We visited the Angel on a Sunday afternoon. We were greeted on arrival by a very friendly waiter called Jack. We had the Sunday roast. I had the beef and my husband had the trio of meat roast. The food came quickly and tasted delicious. We then both had apple crumble with custard for dessert. All the food we had was lovely. Our waiter Jack was very attentive ensuring we were ok. We will definitely be back soon for another meal.
