Best Restaurants for Special Occasions in Galleria / Uptown

We had our Annual Family Christmas Dinner at LA Colonial after a show downtown. The food was amazing - great menu, great wine/cocktail menu and the service was very good. The restaurant is very beautiful- it was a busy evening and I'm hoping to go back at a less busy time to really enjoy the ambiance. Our family loved the experience!

Our waitress Gabby was the worst. She was very bossy and rude. Never came back to our table and clearly kept waiting on the Caucasian people. Another server came and attended to our needs and was very good with the service. Gabby clearly would look at our table and would not even come back to ask if we needed anything and mind you she was at a table right next to us. I would never let her serve me ever again. My daughter just wanted a baked potato and I only wanted the lobster Mac n cheese. We had already ordered appetizers and I really didn’t want any meat. Gabby came to our table asking us if we wanted meat because we don’t want to bring out just sides, I explained to her we were good and that’s all that we wanted. Mind you my wife was going to order her an entree of food. The server that helped us I tipped him $20 in cash and told him to put it in his pocket. Do not share it with her. Then she had the nerve to come back after we received the bill from the other guy and decided to look in it to see the tip and it was a Zero. lol. She looked mad at us as we walked out and we thought it was funny. Because we always tip well but not for her. I recommend never having that server because she is the worst.

I love moxies! The food is incredible and the ambiance is simple, clean and minimalist which I love. Me and my friend go as often as we can and we have never had a bad experience. The staff is super friendly and nice every time we go as well! Moxies is an amazing spot for good food, good drinks and good vibes all around.

I had the most wonderful birthday dinner at Musaafer! The interior and decor were absolutely stunning, creating such a warm and inviting atmosphere. The food was incredible—each dish was full of flavor and beautifully presented. The service was impeccable too, with the staff making us feel so special and well taken care of. I'm so happy with the entire experience and couldn’t have asked for a better way to celebrate!

From the crispy shrimp and beet salad to the flavorful steak, caramel cake, and great coffee, every course was phenomenal. By far one of my favorite dinner experiences of the year and favorite steakhouses in Houston. Ask for MICHELLE A - Stellar waitress who was above and beyond and served with excellence and a great, fun attitude. Only complaint was the volume of the people sitting in the booth that is connected to ours.
