Best Restaurants for Special Occasions in Cabbagetown

We showed up before an event at Scotia Plaza and had to eat reasonably quickly. A happy engaging waiter showed us the fresh fish and gave us enthusiastic opinion which was consistent with the food. The food was delicious. The service was prompt and polite. The staff communicated with each other. We made our event in plenty of time. We paid a lot of money for a nice meal. We felt like we had a special night.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our tasting menu at Alo. Service was impeccable. Food was delicious and exciting. I tried the 7 wine pairing menu which was diverse and educational ranging from sake to whites, reds, and sweet wines. The tables are large and well spaced so it's easy for intimate conversations. Great value. We'll be back!

The ambiance and vibe is very suitable for celebrations. The food was tasty and well presented. Service was excellent. The restaurant could improve by eliminating the cake serving fees as it might irritate customers when they spend so much at the restaurant and still being charged a cake serving fee. $12 for two people for just helping the customer cut up cake is unnecessary.

I recently visited Daphne for the second time, and celebrated by birthday. One key factor for me recommending this spot and for me coming back time after time is the consistency. The food, service, ambiance and vibe is my type. An elegant intimate space that is not too crowded but spacious enough to accommodate the ideal amount of guests to help curate a beautiful and memorable experience. It's also no huge surprise that I've gravitate to this spot as Daphne is managed under the same umbrella as some of my other favourites - Bisha, Oliver Bonicini and Sofia. Once again, the consistency is on point.

Only by our second time there and the waiter numbered our preferred drinks. Excellent service and really good food.
