- SsusanVIPLos Angeles •11 reviews4.0Dined 1 day agoWe love the Rex, and it's our go-to for Holidays, Anniversaries, Special Occasions., and the occasional burger/fries/martini at the bar. Food is outstanding, and so is the service, usually, but on this visit, the service was way way off. It took almost 15 minutes after we were seated for anyone to greet us and take a cocktail order. Then the cocktails took a loooong time. We had an 8 pm reservation, and we arrived a little early. We were seated right away, in a nice busy dining room, but after all the delays, we ended up being the only ones left, eating dinner in an empty restaurant after 9 pm. Not good, not why we want to go to The Rex. The food and drinks were very very good as always - really hoping this service lapse doesn't continue.More infoThe Rex SteakhousePrice: Very Expensive• Steakhouse• Redondo Beach•4.8

The two of us changed our table to the outside patio are because the noise level, especially the clanging of dishes that the wait and bus staff were doing was spoiling the ambiance. Glad we did because the patio was much quieter and we then had an exceptional waiter in Felix who was very attentive and brought what we desired. I would go back to Catalina Kitchen just for him. The food was good, a very wide variety, however some of the vegetable dishes did not look very appetizing. Everything else had nice flavor, loved the crab legs.More infocatalina kitchen at Terranea ResortPrice: Expensive• Contemporary American• Rancho Palos Verdes / Rolling Hills Estates•4.3

The cocktail menu is creative, and even the dips served with the bread are unique. The soups go beyond the ordinary with special toppings - be sure to try the butternut squash soup or the lobster potage. Desserts are among the best I’ve ever had - especially the Old Fashioned or the house specialty Pot de Crème. Our server Steven was both attentive and delightful/ we had such a great time. Looking forward to returning in the near future.More infomar'sel at Terranea ResortPrice: Very Expensive• Californian• Rancho Palos Verdes / Rolling Hills Estates•4.7

Food is amazing, on this trip I took a step out of my comfort zone and started with the burrata caprese and the tagliatelle with chianti braised beef for my main, and I am so glad that I did! Huge portions so I able to enjoy the following night as well. My husband had the garlic cheese bread (MUST HAVE!) and the penne alla vodka and it was equally delicious. I finished the meal with a Nutella bread pudding and YUM! We definitely will be back!More infoGaetano's RestaurantPrice: Moderate• Italian• Torrance / Carson•4.8
