The Punchbowl is a 17th century gastro pub, located in the heart of rural Essex and the Crouch Valley and the South Essex Salt marshes. We offer nose-to-tail style menu, with unpretentious dishes that focus on flavour. Everything is made in house - from bread to mayonnaise, and we use local, seasonal and organic ingredients.     An amazing experience! The food was gorgeous and the decor was insane! What a fabulous way to begin the festive celebrations. The Sugar Plum Fairy would have approved! Best food was the Stilton and Cranberry muffin followed by the Raspberry Ripple mousse. No way we were going to have room for it all but the carry home box was exquisite in itself. Thank you for a truly unforgettable afternoon. We will be back for the Regency in January!

    This is the second year running that my friend and I have been to the Fancy Fox for our Christmas afternoon tea. The venue is beautiful and is especially magical at Christmas. The food is absolutely fantastic and they were brilliant at catering for vegetarians/food allergies. The service can't be faulted and I would say that overall it is great value for money. Infact, there was so much food that we both had to take home leftovers.

    It is a nice restaurant with a view of Southend airport which currently is very quite (the airport) The staff were very helpful and friendly which was great, the food was good and even with the starter of my partner being slightly over cooked, they removed it from the bill and thanked us for our genuine feedback. Overall i would return to the restaurant and could recommend it.
