Best Seasonal Restaurants in Chinatown

The food and ambiance was very good and our server was attentive without being over bearing. The gentleman who seated us was very welcoming. We were there for my son's birthday. I had the butter lettuce salad and the Tavern Burger both which were excellent.

Stepping into Bix is like stepping into a jazz club in New Orleans 50 years ago. The room has an upper balcony around the sides, and the whole place is beautifully decorated, with a huge mural above the classic old-style bar. Service was prompt, friendly, and humorous. They made me a fine Vesper. There was a warm roll with butter at our plates, and then an amuse bouche came shortly after. My half-dozen oysters were sweet and fresh. The lobster pasta had plenty of large chunks of lobster and was delicious. The poached pear dessert came with a big dollop of whipped cream on the side. There was a jazz piano trio playing classics, and even though we were only about 20 feet away, we could talk above the music (but it was good enough to just sit back and listen to). All in all, this was a great experience. It's not cheap, but not insane either. I will definitely be back.

Amazing dinner at China Live. We checked in early and got sat at the time of our reservation. Our server was incredible. The timing of our plates was perfect. Will be going again!

Went to Trestle for a long overdue date night. It was perfect! I was able to get a same day reservation. The neighborhood was lit up and romantic. The service was attentive without being overbearing. The food was excellent (beet carpaccio, seared trout, coconut panna cotta). I was worried that the portions were on the small side, but I left super satisfied. Fine dining at less than $50/per person in San Francisco is a steal! I will be back.
