Here, our experienced team, led by Head Chef Nathaniel Embrey, sear aged local wagyu, tender Tasmanian lamb, freshly caught seafood and other premium ingredients, creating masterful dishes of unrivaled flavour. Adding to the unique quality of our dishes is the distinctive environment in which they’re served – the historic walls of the original IXL Jam Factory, surrounded by the iconic landscape art of John Glover. Reimagined and refined, this menu gives the nod to our past while championing our celebrated produce and boutique Tasmania growers.

Belvedere feeds a growing global appetite for authentic local encounters intertwined with paddock to plate. Through thoughtful interactions, we will create experiences that talk to the providence of the site (through art and design) and to the produce we serve. The site’s colonial backstory serves as an entrée to its incarnation as ‘The Belvedere’ – a beloved Art Deco dance hall that shaped the city’s social fabric from the late 1930s. This story is memorialised in mesmerising chain art – featuring a 7.5m x 3m Kriskadecor panel.Paying homage to this memory, the new ‘Belvedere’ will take its rightful spot as a modern-day gathering place, inviting travellers, corporate crowds and locals to celebrate the best of Tasmania. From paddock to seashore, the menu will showcase the Apple Isle’s rich bounty of produce, and Cape Grim Beef will share centre stage with Meander Valley Chicken, local cheeses and artisan products.

The whole experience was exceptional. We went on Valentine's day, and they went with that theme perfectly, with complementary heart chocolates and a menu of specials. Our food was prepared perfectly and the meat was incredibly tender (Pork ribs and eye fillet steak). Everything was fantastic and we would love to come back soon. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I felt the whole experience was exceptional. My husband was a little disconcerted by the restaurant moving which made it difficult for him to relax, but I found it so interesting being able to view 360 degrees of Hobart. The food was exceptional. Every duck liver parfait that I eat from now on will be compared to the one I ate here. The lobster souffle' was divine.

it was described as European food and I thought it was a mixture of Italian in French. The quality of food was excellent. I would highly recommend this bistro. The crème brûlée was superb and I have had many of these. The quail and sauce was very high- quality . We all enjoyed our meals thoroughly. There were four of us and we had three courses each. The service was very good. I particularly enjoyed French wine, but there was also Tasmanian to choose from. The server/waitress was skilled and attentive. The ambience and table setting was very pleasing.
