Best Restaurants with a Tasting Menu in Midtown

The food was undeniably good, with dishes that were well-prepared and flavorful. However, the experience felt rushed, as the courses arrived almost immediately after one another, leaving little time to savor each dish. Additionally, the ambiance was less than ideal due to the constant opening of the door to the outside, which brought in unwelcome drafts and made it difficult to relax. A bit more attention to pacing and temperature control would elevate the dining experience significantly.

We arrived approximately 10 minutes early for our 6 o'clock reservation. We were greeted with warm smiles and escorted to our table. Our excellent serve staff were Imari and Larry. They both greeted us with "Happy 38th Anniversary," and said, "Welcome to Chops." We ordered Calamari as our appetizer, and our entree selections were, the NY strip and Lamb Chops, with Lobster Mac and Cheese, and Mushrooms. Our food was prepared to our desired taste. I had heard the restaurant was beautifully decorated for the holidays which was my initial reason for going and the menu I viewed online looked pretty enticing too. Everything lived up to my expectations and then some. It was like dining in a winter fairyland and the food was some of the best I’ve ever had. The staff can’t be overlooked either, they were so accommodating during our four hour lunch never rushed us and even kindly took a picture for us so my girlfriend’s and I would have something to remember the special occasion.

We had a wonderful waitress who was super attentive and made sure we had a great first time experience. The food was good. We went for the Steak Night special they had. I ordered a 14 oz NY Strip medium with a side of Mac and Cheese. I added on Asparagus. The food was seasoned well and wasn’t too overpowering. I really loved the Apple Pie for dessert. We decided on the Cabernet bottle for dinner and it was Bonanza. It was a semi spicy cherry wine and paired well with my steak. Overall, we will be returning when I arrive back in town. They did validate for 2 hours free parking in the parking deck behind the restaurant.

I hate that I can’t remember our bartender’s name ( he was working on the Saturday after Thanksgiving!) the Bloody Mary’s were on point!!! The lamb kabobs were over cooked but good in flavor. The service was on point! I will be back!
