We’ve long loved Canary Wharf and it's rich history of the nearby Docklands and Billingsgate Market, yet Blacklock in a glass tower never quite fit. One look at an old disused warehouse nestled cosily in the corner of Canary Wharf underneath the train tracks of the North Dock and we knew we had found home. Hawksmoor Wood Wharf is housed in an eco-friendly floating pavilion in a new riverside neighbourhood in Canary Wharf. Gently rising and falling with the tide, the main restaurant at dock-level is joined by a 120-seat waterside bar. Both include terraces with views across the water (squint your eyes and you might just see the ghosts of great ships laden with mighty lengths of timber that used to swing in and unload there). Everything about the experience was great, from our hostess to our waiter. Food was all outstanding, and for the quality of it, the value was insane! This was recommended by a friend and I would pay that forward for anyone else visiting London and looking to enjoy a beautiful meal in an inviting setting that feels comfortable and relaxed.

We booked our table very early at 11:45 and we're the first ones in so could see the interiors and how they are laid out. Service was excellent, we had the festive tasting menu for 2, there was so much food, we struggled to get through it and left some. We took our puddings away in a box. Be prepared excludig alcohol to pay £75 - £100 per head for an epic experience. Would definitely go back. I took my daughter for her birthday as she wanted to go and it was fantastic.

I had a wonderful pre-holiday lunch with my wife! The cocktails were spot on. The partridge was cooked the way I like it. The staff were whirring about like madmen and women but never missed a beat, were attentive to every detail, and knew what I wanted before I even did. Thanks for the wonderful holiday send off!
