First Flight Island Restaurant and Brewery is located in the home of Pan Americans office, where the first American international flight ticket Key West- Havana, Cuba was bought on October 28th 1927. Great restaurant and food. We had the Black grouper special, crab cakes, salads and with a nice Australian Sauvignon Blanc . The food was outstanding and the service was impeccable. After dinner we enjoyed a great duo of 70 Soul singers in the lounge with after dinner drinks. Highly recommended!

The venue was beautiful, food was delicious and nicely presented. The only downfall was they have a private beach you can purchase for special occasions and a couple got engaged while we were there. They were taking pictures with a photographer etc and nobody else could use their beautiful gazebo the entire time we were there during sunset.

Food was very good overall. The couscous was very bland. The lobster was good but a touch chewy. The surprise anniversary key lime pie dessert was a wonderful surprise - this was the ONLY acknowledgment of our 25th wedding anniversary we received at this ‘resort’. Our Server was very friendly and did a lovely job. Service was a bit slow but that wasn’t his fault. We were one of 3 couples in the dining area so it wasn’t because they were busy. The prices aren’t bad considering how expensive this area is. The curry on my husband’s dish was delicious.
