We know the word "fusion" has been wielded about to justify everything from Hula Burgers to Mexican lasagna. But the East-meets-South brand of fusion happening at Poor Calvin's? It's creative; it's innovative; and it's probably unlike anything you've tasted in the ATL. After working in kitchens around the world, Calvin Phan wanted to shake things up a little. And so, into the mac 'n cheese, the Thai spices went. Now, Calvin's giving Southern staples, like sea bass and fried chicken, a decidedly creative Asian-inspired twist (and a nip of spice, too). He has created innovative dishes, approached in much the same way, leave the hands of Calvin Phan day in and day out. His dedication and attention to detail are evident in each dish and dessert. You won't be disappointed.*Last seating 1 hour before close*

Between the excellent food, drinks and service, it’s impossible to come here and not have a good time. The lobster crawfish wontons and fried green tomatoes with Korean beef are must-haves. I have yet to find a great bao spot in Atlanta but was so happy to try their duck bao special which was so good! The Asian fusion cuisine here is solid but the bartenders here show an equal passion for their cocktails and deserve their own shout out. Their “Pho” drink… what?! Don’t ask, just order it. When it comes to food reviews, I care about taste above anything else… ambiance, service, noise… idc, but I do want to mention that you will not find a poor server at Poor Calvin’s… every single person who works here does their best to ensure you’re having a good experience and it shows.

Our waiter Grey was wonderful and very attentive. The bacon wrapped shrimp were delicious and the fried green tomatoes excellent and delicious without all the extra stuff on top. Drinks fantastic. Food was good a few hits and a few misses. Overall great spot. Oh and the live band great touch once the mics were fixed. We would visit them again.

I haven’t dined at a Trader Vic’s in ages. It was better than I remembered. The Mai Tai took me back to a beachside in Hawaii. The pork chop and the salmon were cooked to perfection. Our waiter was pleasant. We were a bit chilly sitting by the window, but that didn’t hamper our dinner. We didn’t get dessert as we needed to get to a concert, but next time we are in Atlanta, it’s a good chance we will dine here again.
